Context

Revaluing Olympic tarpaulins: a responsible legacy project for the Greater Paris Metropolis

In the wake of the Olympic Games, the Metropole du Grand Paris decided to adopt a circular economy approach to its communications media. Faced with over 20 tonnes of advertising tarpaulins, the local authority opted for a textile recycling solution: upcycling. The aim: to transform these materials into durable, meaningful objects in line with its responsible purchasing policy.

Turning advertising tarpaulins into sustainable accessories made in France

Working alongside our partner workshop Résilience, our design office created a complete range of upcycled accessories, combining technicality, aesthetics and durability. The result: almost 12,000 products have been manufactured locally from PVC tarpaulins, and distributed to agents and at institutional events.
