FAQ
Textile upcycling, or overcycling, consists in transforming existing garments, textiles or materials into new, higher-value products, without destroying the material. It's an alternative to new production, reducing environmental impact while adding value to obsolete textile products (second-hand, unsold, defective, etc.).
We work either from our customers' own materials, or from a bank of recyclable materials sourced by our teams from partner sorting centers.
All our textiles are carefully selected according to their composition, quality and condition.
The materials we use most often:
- Blue or black denim
- T-shirts (white, gray, black or colored)
- Sweatshirts (various weights and colors)
- PVC tarpaulins (black, white or colored)
- Your own material: textile stocks, uniforms, your company's own offcuts...
We choose each material according to the product to be created, to ensure a high-quality, long-lasting finish.
Yes.
If you don't have the material, we can source recyclable textiles for you through our partners (denim, T-shirts, sweatshirts, tarpaulins...).
We then build up a deposit adapted to the product you want to develop.
Our textile upcycling solutions make it possible to create a wide variety of garments and accessories, using your own materials or materials sourced by our teams:
- Clothing & capsules: upcycled pieces, collections, creative collaborations.
- Accessories: bags, clutches, cases, responsible fashion accessories.
- Decoration & furnishings: covers, cushions, curtains, textile signage elements.
- Communication & events: eco-responsible goodies, event t-shirts, sustainable communication accessories.
- Uniforms & workwear: upcycled work clothes, aprons, professional equipment
Each project is unique and developed according to your specific needs and brand universe. Please feel free to request our catalog via the contact form.
To properly frame a textile upcycling project, we need a few essential elements:
- Type of products required (clothing and/or accessories)
- The quantity envisaged
- Available budget
This information enables us to define together the feasibility of the project and to adapt the proposal to your needs.

Recycling consists in transforming textiles by reducing them to their fibrous state, before refiltering them and producing a new yarn. This is an essential solution for textiles that are too worn or damaged to be reused, but it involves several industrial stages that consume energy.
Upcycling, on the other hand, preserves materials in their original state. The starting point is an existing garment, fabric or textile, which is cut up and reassembled directly to create a new product. By avoiding the destruction of materials, we reduce the number of production stages and, consequently, our environmental impact.
This approach also preserves certain identity elements - logos, textures, colors - which add history and value to the final product.
The two solutions are complementary: upcycling comes into play when the material can be recovered directly, and recycling takes over when this is no longer possible.
Because it uses existing materials.
Upcycling thus avoids the extraction of new resources such as cotton, water or energy needed for spinning, weaving and dyeing.
By eliminating these high-consumption stages, it significantly reduces carbon emissions, water consumption and waste production.
It's a more sober and efficient way of creating new products, while extending the life of textiles.
Yes, every upcycled product can be customized to reflect your brand universe. You can adjust :
- Materials: denim, t-shirts, sweatshirts, PVC tarpaulins or your own textile stocks
- Shapes and cuts: collars, sleeves, pockets, lengths
- Finishes and marking techniques: zips, buttons, press studs, printing, embroidery, screen printing, transfers, patches...
- Visual rendering: creative patchwork effect or uniform, homogeneous finish according to your shade and texture preferences
Each creation is designed to make the most of circular materials while fully reflecting your identity.
We're with you every step of the way. Generally speaking, an upcycling project has three main stages:
- Design: ideation, design proposal, sourcing, pattern-making, prototyping.
- Production : raw materials are cut in our workshop equipped with special tools, and the final upcycled parts are assembled in one of our partner workshops.
- Distribution: packaging and delivery of ready-to-use finished products.
Between 4 and 12 weeks, depending on product complexity, volumes and availability of materials.
We support the company in preparation and logistics, whether it's sending stock or collecting it on site.
Yes. Thanks to our robotized cutting line, we can industrialize upcycling projects that were previously limited to small production runs.
From a sufficiently large pool of material, we are able to produce large volumes, with consistent quality and controlled lead times.
Our minimum production volume is set at 500 upcycled pieces.
This threshold enables us to ensure consistent series production, consistent quality and optimized industrial costs.
If you have any doubts about the feasibility of your project, you can contact us via the form: we'll study your material and your needs and give you a personalized answer.
Both options are available.
- In white label, the products are developed for your brand and do not carry the Losanje signature.
- In collaboration, we co-sign the collection (labels, storytelling, communication) when this brings value to your project.
We tailor our approach to your strategy and project objectives.
Quality and durability are at the heart of our approach. We apply the same requirements as conventional textile production, while taking into account the specific characteristics of the recycled materials.
For each project, we guarantee the solidity and reliability of the product thanks to several key stages:
- Rigorous selection of materials: each textile is sorted according to its composition, condition and resistance.
- Prototyping and testing: a prototype is created, tested and validated before going into production.
- Controlled manufacturing process: robotized cutting for constant precision, meticulous finishing by specialized workshops.
- Quality controls at every stage: checking seams, assemblies and conformity of the final product.
Thanks to these steps, we can guarantee upcycled products that are solid, reliable and designed to last over time.
Yes, our products meet ready-to-wear quality standards, with solid finishes and a design that's built to last.
For each project, we carry out an impact assessment based on recognized data and methodologies derived from industry benchmarks. Our calculations are based in particular on the work of ADEME, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and a Quantis & McKinsey study.
These estimates make it possible to quantify the savings in water, CO₂ and raw materials generated by recycling, compared with new textile production.
At the end of each project, we provide an impact certificate showing:
- the water savings achieved
- the CO₂ emissions avoided
- the quantity of material recycled
Our aim is to give you a clear, transparent picture of the positive impact of your approach, without overestimating the results.
By avoiding disposal and destruction, upcycling contributes directly to the objectives of the EPR textile sector, upstream of recycling solutions.
Yes. We can help you showcase your upcycling project by providing:
- Photos of products and material before/after
- Product storytelling and language elements
- Key impact figures (material reclaimed, water and CO₂ saved)
- Communication advice for your internal media, social networks or press kits.
The aim is to help you share your upcycling approach with your teams and your audience in a clear, coherent and rewarding way.
Yes, Losanje has been awarded the ANDAM Innovation 2025 Prize, a distinction that recognizes our industrial approach to textile upcycling.
We are also supported by ADEME, BPI and UI Investissement in our sustainable and local development. In addition, Losanje has won several calls for projects rewarding our commitment to a circular economy.
