Building a low-carbon wardrobe through upcycling
Since its creation, FAGUO has set itself a clear goal: to offer a wardrobe with the lowest possible carbon footprint, without ever compromising on style or product desirability. The brand is constantly exploring new solutions at the crossroads of eco-design, textile innovation, and the circular economy. In line with this philosophy of continuous improvement, FAGUO wanted to go further than simply incorporating recycled materials. The goal was to experiment with large-scale post-consumer upcycling by creating a capsule collection made entirely from second-hand clothing sourced from sorting centers. The aim was to demonstrate that it is possible to mass-produce using existing textiles while maintaining the standards of quality, stylistic consistency, and customer experience expected of a brand distributed through a network of stores.
Transforming secondhand clothing into a standardized collection
The project was entirely managed by Losanje, from sourcing to production and logistics. The garments were collected from partner sorting centers in France and Europe, according to precise specifications defined with FAGUO, incorporating strict criteria for composition, weight, color, and durability to ensure quality and recyclability. The selected models are two of the brand's best-sellers, reworked into upcycled versions to fit naturally into the FAGUO wardrobe. The patchwork design combines pieces from existing garments, while the iconic tree is featured in an XXL version to assert the capsule's identity. Cutting has been automated using industrial equipment developed by Losanje in France, allowing for standardized formats, optimized material use, and large-scale reproducible production. Assembly has been entrusted to French partner workshops, and each step has undergone rigorous quality control to guarantee the reliability of the finished products.

A full-scale demonstration of industrial upcycling
Part of the Spring-Summer 2026 collection, the capsule is available in stores and online at a price equivalent to that of conventional products, demonstrating the economic viability of industrial upcycling. Made from second-hand clothing, it has a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to new clothing. FAGUO has fully embraced this approach through its "Future is upcycling" campaign and a dedicated display in one of its Parisian flagship stores. This project is a full-scale test of industrial upcycling. It demonstrates that it is possible to produce thousands of collections from existing textiles without compromising on style or desirability, and that post-consumer upcycling can become a credible and replicable solution for brands.
